Questions shippers and brokers ask us most.

Answers for shippers and brokers: what Illinois Tank Lines hauls, where it runs, how it prevents contamination between loads, and how recurring freight works.

Who is Illinois Tank Lines?

ITL is a family-owned regional liquid bulk carrier based in Chicago. Our management team has more than 15 years of liquid bulk experience. We focus on solving customers' chemical liquid transportation needs and treat every shipment as a priority.

What lanes and regions do you serve?

Regional service out of Chicago, with core lanes to New Jersey, Atlanta, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Omaha.

What hazardous materials can you haul?

Class 3 flammable liquids (fuels, solvents, petroleum distillates) and Class 8 corrosives (acids, caustics), as well as non-hazardous liquids such as glycols, lubricants and base oils. For any other class, contact the team to discuss.

How much product fits in one tanker?

Capacity depends on the product's density and the legal weight limit. Dense corrosives often load well below a trailer's full volume.

How do you prevent contamination between loads?

Every tank is cleaned and arrives with a wash certificate before loading.

Do you haul loads outside your core lanes?

Yes, case by case. ITL's core lanes run from Chicago to New Jersey, Atlanta, Minneapolis, St. Louis and Omaha, and we can often handle nearby destinations along those corridors. Contact dispatch with the origin and destination to check availability.

Can you handle dedicated or recurring shipments?

Yes. For regular volume on a set lane, ITL can set up a dedicated or scheduled service so capacity is planned ahead.

Do you work with brokers or only direct shippers?

ITL works with direct shippers, brokers and 3PLs. Brokers can request ITL's carrier packet, including the W-9, authority and certificate of insurance, at info@iltankerlines.com.
